In the past year, all major AED manufacturers have made announcements that they are discontinuing some of their AED lines. Read More on our BLOG.
Whether your device is no longer manufactured like the Philips HeartStart FR2/FR2+; out of warranty (beyond its 5 to 8-year warranty for manufacturer repair and replacement; or considered “end of life” or “end of support” (meaning the manufacturer no longer supplies the batteries, pads and other accessories), Think Safe is here to help.
To ensure the readiness of lifesaving AEDs in your facilities, we encourage you to determine whether your AED(s) is/are FDA-approved, and if not, to contact us to help you transition them to an FDA-approved AED.
How Do You Know if Your Device is FDA Approved?
The FDA has published a list of all FDA Approved Devices. This TABLE on the FDA’s Website, lists all AEDs that have received premarket approval from the FDA. If your AED is on this list, no matter your purchase date, the AED is considered FDA-approved. The FDA will update this table when new AEDs are approved. For descriptions of these devices, their indications for use, and related information, follow the Premarket Database links on the page, or give us a call at Think Safe for help navigating the AED landscape.
